GOAL: Every student will experience high academic achievement and continuous growth by participating in a rigorous instructional program designed to raise the academic bar and close achievement gaps so that every student will become a globally competitive citizen in a culturally diverse world.

Objectives:

 

Employ efforts to affirm the critical role of library media specialists and library media programs.

 

Enable library media specialists to build their own competencies and confidence through access to high quality professional development.

 

To improve instruction that is relevant, rigorous, and engaging through effective integration of resources that meet the diverse needs of all learners.

 

 

Strategy

Create advocacy efforts in order to:

  • showcase school library programs in BCPS.

  • deepen a library media specialist’s knowledge of instruction which utilizes an inquiry based approach and employs the effective and strategic use of 21st century resources and pedagogy.

  • provide multiple and differentiated opportunities for library media specialists to engage active professional learning.

  • enable library media specialists to acquire, practice, apply new knowledge and reflect on results with colleagues.

  • correlate efforts to the school progress plans.
