Reflection  - Write a brief written reflection below each question; you can elaborate when you share with colleagues at the Showcase.

How did you approach the work?

I looked at what Kelly and I had planned and work done by fellow secondary LMSs as well as relationships that I had already begun to establish to begin the work.  I also reaffirmed my commitment to collaborating with more teachers throughout the school and met with World Cultures teachers several times to plan out a lesson.  I reached out as well to fellow secondary media specialists for ideas and was able to attend two professional developments that revolved around writing collaborative lessons.  This helped me to plan my lessons.

How did an evidence-based perspective affect your practice?

I had more confidence that my collaboration was a benefit to students and was able to communicate this to teachers.  I was also more inclined to work toward a true collaborative experience instead of a lesson presented solely by me on a topic related to curriculum.  I also made sure to gather and present evidence of what I was doing more frequently and to have measures of student performance, although I am still working on and trying to improve all of these areas.

How will you engage in EBP going forward?

I will try to present information to faculty at the beginning of the year about how we can collaborate and make sure to highlight evidence for this practice.  I will schedule more teachers at the beginning of the year before testing gets scheduled.  I will continue to gather evidence of student work and performance and share this with colleagues as well as a wider audience.  I will look at additional areas of evidence based practice.
