Goal:  Participants will engage in self-reflection and collaboration to examine strategies for enhancing instructional partnerships and analyzing the Building Blocks of Instruction in order to inform future practice.

 

Building Authentic Instructional Partnerships

LMS Leaders will:
  • Discuss how they initiate instructional partnerships.

  • Explain how they foster a collaborative environment.

  • Identify and describe the dynamic between their own andtheir instructional partner's leadership archetypes.

 

Lesson Unpack 

LMS Leaders will unpack a lesson taught this year. Colleagues will use a Flipbook to make notes as they analyze Building Blocks of Instruction.

Summer Reading

Essential Question:  How can we support student literacy by promoting and providing summer reading opportunities?

Goal:  Participants will understand their role in promoting summer reading and student participation in the BCPL Summer Reading Challenge.

  • School librarians will NOT register students in school due to student data privacy restrictions.

 

BCPS Summer Reading Resources & Initiatives

  • Check out 10 books to returning students for the summer to support literacy and equitable access. 

  • Promote participation & inform families using resources on our Summer Reading wiki pageTwitter,
    and other school communication channels.  

  • Host a Summer Book Club and create Recommended Summer Reading Lists/Destiny Collections.
  • Ensure that students know how to use their Student Accounts.

  • Remind students about Destiny eBooks and BCPS Digital Content.
