Session PowerPoint
A. Why have a Virtual Presence for your School Library?
-
Promote the library and services- post hours, contact info/social media, services available, links to major resources ...
-
Connect to the school community - Having a link from the school's main webpage will allow librarians and library programs to be visible to the school community.
B. Archiving PbWorks Content
- Archiving Directions
- Check your current School Library Wiki to identify content you wish to archive for future use in Schoology or on School Messenger:
C. Creating a Layout for Library Webpages in School Messenger
D. Next Steps
- Discontinue use of Library wiki now; archive anything you want for future reference.
- Use Schoology to stage instructional resources.
- Work with school Webmaster to add or revise Library page(s) on School Website; Library should have it's own tab or tile (not just attached to your name in Staff Directory).
- Destiny changes coming:
- Simple "webpage" within the OPAC, with WYSIWYG editor and curation tool.
