MSDE Annual Report 2022

 

2021-2022 MSDE ANNUAL SCHOOL LIBRARY REPORT  

 

BCPS library media specialists will complete the 2021-22 MSDE Public School Annual Library Media Report as directed below. PLEASE NOTE: LMP staff will complete reports for schools where the LMS is on extended leave or a long-term sub is in place.  At schools with more than one librarian, please collaborate to prepare one Report for the school library.

 

REVISED TIMELINE:

  • Prior to April PD:  All school library Destiny collections were uploaded or re-uploaded to TitleWave by LMP staff, in order to include recently-filled orders in the Collection Analysis for MSDE.

  • April PD Sessions:  LMS receive MSDE Report Working Copy w/instructions

  • May 3: Professional Learning Day. Opportunity to work on MSDE report. Office Hours will be provided on Microsoft Teams for all LMS from 9-11 am.

INSTRUCTIONS

Much of the data for this report is provided to you by BCPS Library Media Programs, or available from your April 2022 TitleWise collection analysis. There is very little math or data mining for you to do!  The Working Copy document includes detailed instructions for completing questions (in italics and highlighted in yellow). Please follow the steps below.

 

Step 1: COMPLETE Report items #1-45 on the WORKING COPY document first. 

  • You may use a printed copy as a worksheet, then enter your responses on a digital copy. 

Step 2: SEND a digital copy of your completed Working Copy via email attachment to Amanda Lanza alanza@bcps.org and Cc: Your Principal and Tisome Archer tarcher2@bcps.org.

Subject: 2022 MSDE Report for School Libraries

Body: Every year, MSDE requires all schools with libraries to submit data regarding their school library program. Staffing, budget, collection statistics, roles of the library media specialist, teaching and learning, and testing in regards to how they impact the school library program are some of the data collected. Attached is an Executive Summary and a Working Copy of the report.
