BCPL and SAIL

Information on the BCPS partnership with Baltimore County Public Library (SAIL) and available BCPL resources for BCPS students and faculty. The SAIL Team is comprised of staff from BCPL, BCPS Library Media Programs, and BCPS Parent University.  


 

SAIL Partnership Initiatives (Students Achieve In Libraries)

                                                 

 

  • BCPL Student Accounts for all BCPS students, providing access to books and databases. 
  • BCPL Teacher Resources: Teacher Loan Cards, Teacher Collections and other resources and services for teachers. 
  • BCPL Research Databases - filter by age range for databases appropriate for kids, teens and adults.
  • BCPS Wi-Fi network available to all students and staff at their local BCPL branches. 

  • Collaboration between BCPS library media specialists and BCPL local branch staff: School nights at BCPL branches, BCPL staff/programs at school-based events like Back to School Nights, etc. *Contact local branch school liaison.
  • Kindergarten Library orientations: Branch liaisons will contact Elementary LMS to coordinate; please respond promptly. 
  • Battle of the Books:  LMS should contact the branch school liaison for information about participating. *Sponsoring Battle of the Books is a BCPS EDA (Extra Duty Activity) including a stipend.
  • BC Reads Annual county-wide community reading promotion during April, including featured author visits to schools.
