Outcome: Participants considering genrefication of their school library collection will learn what works and how this shift impacts circulation and student library use, from a librarian who has done it successfully.

Agenda:
- DEFINE "genrefication" and related terms, and DISCUSS trends toward genrefication in school libraries that provided inspiration and ideas for a BCPS pilot project.
- BACKGROUND about the BCPS pilot genrefication project at Edgemere Elementary School:
- ODL support, school facts, rationale, connection between genrefication and learner-centered library media center.
- LOGISTICS & planning for Edgemere genrefication project. Digital Tools and Social Media used to support project goals.
- PROCESS: Identifying Fiction genres & Nonfiction subject categories/sub-categories, selecting icons, creating labels & signs, categorizing, labeling, re-shelving.
- DESTINY: Adding & assigning genres & subject categories/sub-categories to copies for display in Destiny OPAC searches.
- REACTION of students & faculty to genrefied collection.
- DATA analysis illustrating impact of genrefication on Fiction & Nonfiction circulation.
- MAINTAINING MOMENTUM with QR codes and Genre Spotlights on the school library wiki.
- LASTING IMPACT at Edgemere for students, teachers, and librarian.
- TIPS & alternatives for un-Deweying, suggestions for Middle/High schools, resources, opportunities for collaboration.
